Webinar - How to Prepare for MIPS Cost Scoring: Practical Advice for Solo Practitioners and Small Group Practices

March 20, 2018

8:00–9:00 am Pacific Time
9:00–10:00 am Mountain Time

Understanding changes to the Year 2 performance categories can be challenging. With the addition of the Cost Category to MIPS score calculations, clinicians in small practices need to understand how these scores are calculated and what changes can help them earn the highest possible score.

This webinar from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will focus on learning how cost scores are calculated, how much they will impact overall MIPS scores, and how you can identify and adapt in areas that are impacting your cost score the most.

A panel of experts—including Qualis Health Quality Improvement Principal Deanna Graham—will explain MIPS cost scoring and offer practical advice on maximizing your cost scores based on their experience working with small group practices and solo practitioners.

Participants will learn:

  • How cost scores will be calculated by CMS
  • How to identify the factors most heavily impacting the cost score you will receive
  • Cost containment practices that work in small group practices
  • Practical tips for how small group practices can earn a high MIPS cost score
  • How to access free technical assistance resources available right now from CMS or a local Direct Support Organization funded by CMS

This event is designed for:

  • MIPS-eligible clinicians from solo and small practices with 15 or fewer clinicians
  • Practice managers and other staff from small group practices
  • Persons supporting small group practices that are preparing for MIPS in 2018
