MIPS 101: An Overview of the Merit-Based Incentive System (MIPS) for Solo and Small Group Practices

January 17, 2019

8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. PT
9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. MT

The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) established the Quality Payment Program, which works to make Medicare better by keeping patients at the center of health care while paying clinicians based on their performance. However, clinicians in small group practices can face unique challenges as they participate in MIPS, when time and resources are scarce.

This free event, presented by IMPAQ, will feature a panel of experts who work closely with small practices and are familiar with MIPS who understand what it takes to get started and be successful. This event is designed for newly eligible MIPS clinicians in small practices and those wanting a high level overview of the program.

You'll learn:

  • Whether you need to participate in MIPS
  • The pros and cons of participating as an individual, group or virtual group
  • Practical first steps you can take to begin preparing for MIPS and how to be successful
  • How to access free technical assistance resources available from CMS or a local Technical Assistance Organization funded by CMS

This event is designed for:

  • MIPS-eligible clinicians from solo and small group practices with 15 or fewer clinicians
  • Practice managers and other staff from small group practices
  • Persons supporting small group practices that are preparing for MIPS in 2019
