Qualis Health has provided services since 1985 to the State of Alaska, Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Health Care Services (DHCS). We perform utilization management activities (preadmission, concurrent and retrospective review), expedited and standard appeals, assessment (quality of care) review, and case management activities.

In addition, under a separate Alaska Medicaid contract held since 1997, Qualis Health performs new application and renewal reviews for Medicaid-eligible children who meet requirements for institutionalization but receive care at home (under the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, or TEFRA).
