Hilke Faber, RN, MN

Hilke Faber, RN, MN brings over 20 years of advocacy experience in health and long term care. She currently is the Education Program Specialist with the Washington State Nurses Association; and is the current Advocacy Coordinator of the Resident Councils of Washington (RCW) which is the only resident-governed organization in the nation committed to promoting the quality of life and care, and living life as fully as possible, no matter where one lives. She is the Founder of RCW while serving as the first local Long Term Care Ombudsman in Washington State. She joined the Qualis Health Board of Directors in 2008. 

Ms. Faber formerly served as the Health Representative with AARP’s West Region, coordinating volunteers in Health Advocacy Services in six states, including Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. She has served on numerous national, state and local advisory boards, task forces, and committees committed to improving the quality of health and long term care. 

Ms. Faber has served as a clinical faculty member in the Department of Community and Health Care Systems at the University of Washington’s School of Nursing since 1972. She previously served on the Qualis Health Nursing Home Quality Improvement Advisory Board and Providence Health System Long Term Care Community Quality Board of King County. More recently, she served on the Governor’s Work Group to advise on the training and certification of direct care workers in home and community based settings.

Ms. Faber holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master’s Degree in Nursing and a Certificate in Public Health from the University of Washington in Seattle.
