Marci Weis, RN, MPH, CCM, CPUM is Chief Operating Officer at Qualis Health, an independent, private, nonprofit healthcare quality improvement and care management organization headquartered in Seattle, Washington. She oversees the organization’s operational and customer relations activities for all product and service lines, including quality and safety initiatives, care management, business process improvement and health services research.

Qualis Health’s services include support of quality and safety initiatives, care management, health information technology and business process improvement consulting, and health services research and evaluation. Qualis Health holds Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contracts in two states, contracts with five state Medicaid agencies and services many other public and private sector organizations.

Prior to her appointment as Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Weis has served as Qualis Health’s Vice President of Care Management, among other positions, during her 14 years with the company. Before joining Qualis Health, Ms. Weis served in a variety of clinical positions in Washington State, Michigan and Nepal.

Ms. Weis holds a Master of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Michigan. She is certified as a Case Manager by the Commission for Case Manager Certification, and is also a Certified Professional in Utilization Management.

Ms. Weis is co-author of Fundamentals of Case Management, a reference book widely used throughout the care management industry. She serves on the URAC Standards Committee, the National Transitions of Care Coalition’s Performance and Metrics Workgroup, and is a Baldrige examiner for the state of Washington. She is also a member of the Sigma Theta Tau international honor society of nursing.
