Mary Sellers, CPHIMS
Chief Information Officer
marys@qualishealth.org Mary Sellers, CPHIMS is the Chief Information Officer at Qualis Health, an independent, private, nonprofit healthcare quality improvement and care management organization headquartered in Seattle, Washington. She oversees corporate and Medicare information technologies and services across all offices, leads the Health Insurance Portability and Protection Act (HIPAA) initiatives and directs the daily operations of the Information Technology Services department at Qualis Health.
Qualis Health’s services include support of quality and safety initiatives, care management, health information technology and business process improvement consulting, and health services research and evaluation. Qualis Health holds Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contracts in two states, contracts with five state Medicaid agencies and services many other public and private sector organizations.
Before joining Qualis Health as Chief Information Officer (CIO) in 2002, Ms. Sellers spent over 20 years in multiple information systems leadership positions in the newspaper and information technology industries in both Washington State and Alaska. Her roles included Information Technology Business Systems Manager at The Seattle Times and Information Systems Manager with the Anchorage Daily News. In those positions, her scope of responsibility ranged from internal and external consulting roles, to leading corporate technology departments, planning and strategic initiatives.
Ms. Sellers holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Central Washington University. She is a member of the Project Management Institute, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, and the College of Health Care Information Management Executives.
