Michael Garrett, MS, CCM is the Vice President of Business Development for Qualis Health, an independent, private, nonprofit healthcare quality improvement organization headquartered in Seattle, Washington. He is responsible for identifying, pursuing and securing new business opportunities for Qualis Health through expanding service line capabilities with existing and new markets.

Qualis Health’s services include support of quality and safety initiatives, care management, health information technology and business process improvement consulting, and health services research and evaluation. Qualis Health holds Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contracts in two states, contracts with five state Medicaid agencies and services many other public and private sector organizations.

Mr. Garrett has worked for Qualis Health for 20 years in a variety of development, operational and strategic positions. Before he joined Qualis Health, Mr. Garrett worked nearly eight years for Intracorp, a national disability management organization.

Mr. Garrett holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Gonzaga University and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Idaho. He is a Certified Case Manager, Registered Mental Health Counselor, Certified Vocational Evaluator and a Nationally Certified Psychologist.

Mr. Garrett is a member of the Clinical Accreditation Committee of URAC, a commissioner with the Commission for Case Manager Certification, a member of the Case Management Society of America’s Task Force for the Revision of the Scope of Practice for Case Management and a member of the Editorial Board of Lippincott’s Journal Professional Case Management, the Official Journal of the Case Management Society of America. He is also a member of the American Marketing Association, Association of Proposal Management Professionals, National Association for Healthcare Quality and the Product Development and Management Association.

Mr. Garrett has published numerous journal articles on various aspects of care management, and has spoken at national and regional conferences. He has written and edited four books in the field of case and care management. He recently authored two chapters of the book published by the Case Management Society of America entitled CMSA’s Core Curriculum for Case Management, 2nd Edition.
