Home Health Quality Initiative
The Project Through the Home Health Quality Initiative (HHQI), Qualis Health is working with the Federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), to further improve the quality of care given to the millions of Americans who use home health care services.

This initiative combines new information for consumers about the quality of care provided by home health agencies with important resources available to home health care professionals to improve the quality of home health care.

 

Quality of Care Measures - Summary

  • Patients who get better at getting dressed
  • Patients who get better at bathing
  • Patients who stay the same (don't get worse) at bathing
  • Patients who get better getting to and from the toilet
  • Patients who get better at walking or moving around
  • Patients who get better at getting in and out of bed
  • Patients who get better at taking their medicines correctly (by mouth)
  • Patients who are confused less often
  • Patients who have less pain when moving around
  • Patients who had to be admitted to the hospital
  • Patients who need urgent, unplanned medical care
