Implementation Science Publishes Healthy Hearts Northwest Protocol Paper
The journal Implementation Science has published a description of the study protocol for Healthy Hearts Northwest, a randomized trial designed to address the comparative effectiveness of combined strategies to build quality improvement capacity while improving risk factors for cardiovascular disease. As a partner in Healthy Hearts Northwest, Qualis Health is providing training, technical assistance and other support to participating practices in Idaho and Washington state.

Mary Virden to Talk Oral Health Integration
This week, Qualis Health Senior Consultant Mary Virden will address attendees at the New England Rural Health Roundtable’s 2016 Rural Health Conference in Southbridge, MA. New Report Provides Healthcare Recommendations for WA Residents
A new report from the Washington Health Alliance, Less Harm, Less Waste: Choosing Wisely in Washington State, offers results and recommendations for 10 overused medical interventions. Qualis Health contributed Medicare results for three of the report's measures. The report is part of the national Choosing Wisely® program, which aims to reduce harm and waste by promoting patient-provider conversations about appropriate care choices. Study Shows PCMHs Can Lead to Positive Results for Practices and Patients
In a study published by JAMA Internal Medicine, RAND researcher Dr. Mark Friedberg and colleagues found that participation in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Chronic Care Initiative was associated with relative improvements in quality, increased primary care utilization and lower use of emergency department, hospital and specialty care.
