2018 Qualis Health Idaho Quality Award Winners Will Be Announced

Qualis Health Will Recognize Four Idaho Organizations for Improvements in Healthcare

Boise, ID - Qualis Health, one of the nation's leading population health management organizations, will recognize four healthcare organizations from across the state of Idaho for their achievements in improving healthcare quality and outcomes. The award recipients will be recognized during a ceremony at the Idaho Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Conference on April 19 in Boise, Idaho. Linda Rowe, Executive Director of Qualis Health, will present the awards.

“Our changing healthcare landscape requires increasingly vigorous efforts to improve healthcare delivery and health outcomes in Idaho and across the nation. The Qualis Health Idaho Quality Awards celebrate organizations that have transformed healthcare delivery for their communities—making a real difference for their patients and their families,” said Rowe. “Their achievements exemplify progress towards critical aims for healthcare: better quality of care at a lower cost.”

The 2018 Quality Awards of Excellence in Healthcare Quality will be awarded to the following organizations:

  • Award of Excellence: Health System - Clearwater Valley Hospital and Clinics, Orofino, for their project, “Team-Based Chronic Opioid Patient Care”
     
  • Award of Excellence: Acute Care Community Hospital - St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center, Meridian, for their project, “Leveraging Technology, Tools, and Purposeful Rounding to Reduce Patient Falls on a Medical Surgical Unit”
     
  • Award of Excellence: Health System - St. Luke’s Health System, Boise, for their project, “Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) Care Map: A Tool of System-wide, Integrated Care of Hip Dysplasia”
     
  • Award of Excellence: Critical Access Hospital - Bonner General Health, Sandpoint, for their project, “Antibiotic Stewardship: Creating a Program in a Critical Access Facility”


The awards ceremony will be part of a two-day conference focusing on sustaining excellence in a crisis. Keynote speakers include author and data expert Davis Balestracci, MS, and Lynn Webster, MD, a thought leader on the opioid crisis.
