Qualis Health’s Vice President of Quality and Safety Initiatives elected to governing body of national organization dedicated to promoting fundamental change to improve healthcare quality
Seattle, WA—Marie Dunn, MS, Vice President of Quality and Safety Initiatives (QSI) for Qualis Health, has been named to the American Health Quality Association (AHQA) Board of Directors. Dunn was elected at the association’s annual membership meeting on July 9 during the 2018 AHQA Quality Summit in Baltimore, MD.
Dunn brings more than a decade of healthcare leadership experience to the AHQA board, including significant work in the population health and quality improvement arenas for Health Catalyst and The Advisory Board Company.
“I have a long-standing interest in efforts to drive systematic changes in our healthcare system by leveraging innovative practices and data,” said Dunn. “I look forward to working with AHQA on our shared mission to promote the fundamental change that improves the quality of healthcare in the United States.”
Dunn joins Qualis Health and HealthInsight’s President and CEO, Marc Bennett, and Chief Financial Officer, Dan Memmott, in service to the AHQA. Bennett was past president and board chair from 2007 to 2009, and Memmott is a current board member.
At Qualis Health, Dunn is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of QSI programs, including the Medicare Quality Innovation Network–Quality Improvement Organization (QIN-QIO) for Idaho and Washington, the Medicaid External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) for Washington, the Healthier Washington Practice Transformation Support Hub, and numerous public and private grants and contracts to help primary care clinics become high-performing patient-centered medical homes (PCMHs).
The AHQA, a not-for-profit national membership association, represents the nation’s Quality Innovation Quality Improvement Organizations (QIOs), who bring Medicare beneficiaries, providers, and communities together in data-driven initiatives that increase patient safety, make communities healthier, better coordinate post-hospital care, and improve clinical quality.
